Where is Mansfield Hospital?
Mansfield Hospital is located at 53 Highett Street in Mansfield . Coming from Melbourne , turn right at the first roundabout (monument) and the hospital is 500m on the right on the corner of Malcolm and Highett Street.
Visiting hours at Mansfield Hospital
As a matter of courtesy, visitors should check with the nurse in charge before visiting any patients. The hospital reserves the right to ask visitors to leave the premises at any time. Visitors are also requested to keep noise to a minimum.
General Wards: 10.00am to 8.00 pm
Midwifery Ward: 10.00 to noon Rest period 12 noon to 3.00 pm – No visitors or phone calls during this time
3.00 pm to 6.00 pm
7.00 pm to 8.00 pm Partners only
Your children may visit during this time with the permission of the nurse in charge. Normal visiting hours are observed but we attempt to ensure that mother and babe are not overwhelmed by visitors. Visitors to the maternity unit may be restricted on the first days after baby’s birth.
Parking near the hospital
Parking in Highett Street is free, there is median strip parking as well as parallel parking at the front of the hospital. There is one 10 minute pick up and drop parking space near the front entrance and one disabled parking bay. Parking at the rear of the hospital is reserved for accident and emergency patients only.
Kids at hospital
Parents are invited and encouraged to stay with young children when they are admitted as patients.
Favourite toys, rugs, etc. may be brought to hospital, however, pets are not allowed.
Booking in for an operation or procedure
The hospital will send you a letter regarding your impending surgery or procedure, usually 1 to 2 weeks prior to your procedure date. The letter sets out the instructions regarding pre-anaesthetic checks with your doctor and the procedure to follow to attend to pre admission paperwork in the hospital.
